WE’RE HERE invites artists from all over the world to submit their queer works of art. All arts welcome, all artists welcome. There are no prizes, there are no fees.
The submissions should be done online and should consist of electronic reproductions, presentations or original electronic art. Digital images of the works should be submitted for consideration.
The project respects freedom of expression and information. However, any illegal and harmful content will be immediately reported to the competent authorities. The following types of content, but not limited to these, may be deemed illegal and harmful: images and videos of child sexual abuse, content that advocates terrorist acts, content that promotes, incites or instructs in crime or violence, footage of real violence, cruelty and criminal activity.
DEADLINE
The call is open from June 9, 2020 to February 15, 2021. Submit by the 15th of the month for publication by the end of the following month, at the earliest.
The call is part of a project consisting of a virtual exhibition, and, pending funds being raised, a video installation and an actual exhibition to take place in June 2021, in Timisoara, Romania, a city that will hold the title of European Capital of Culture for 2021*.
Submit your works for a chance to stand out in an online show that brings together artists from all around the world and to join an informal network focused on imagining a new way of showcasing art.

THEME
You decide the theme. Just make sure that you use art and appreciation of arts to bring us together. Have a voice. Show the world. WE'RE HERE
WE'RE HERE is a communication project for artists, as well as an editorial and research project, at the same time.
Curated by dakommunication and friends, WE'RE HERE offers the opportunity to present the queer perspective: what makes us tick, what makes us worry, how we see the world and how the world sees us.

Each artist, group or collective is welcome to submit one to ten artworks from:
texts (any length)
photos (JPG/PNG, max. 2 MB)

a list of online links and social media accounts where you show your work and where you can be contacted for commissions by those who appreciate your art.
Deadline is currently ongoing.
CURATORSHIP
dakommunication is a one-man show working with independent artists in performing and visual arts to help them better communicate, lobby and become more prominent in front of the funding bodies, the government and the public.
SELECTION PROCESS
Submissions are considered and curated monthly for the ongoing web exhibition. Subsequently, and once funding is secured, a further selection of works is to be prepared for the video installation. Finally, an actual exhibition is envisioned for June 2021, again once funding is secured in order to cover the on site logistics.
WE'RE HERE is looking to select at least one artist per country. All applications will receive an automated reply.
Each artist is responsible for submitting original authentic content and retains all the rights adjacent to the work.
Upon submission the artist grants dakommunication and its partners the international rights to reproduce online, on video and in print the work with due credits, as specified in the submission email, for the purpose of the WE'RE HERE project.
*Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Timisoara will host as one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2023.
